Thiruvananthapuram MCH Anaesthesia technician injured in oxygen cylinder mishap

Thiruvananthapuram: In an accident involving an oxygen cylinder flow meter, a 21-year-old anaesthesia technician working at the Thiruvananthapuram Government Medical College Hospital (MCH) sustained a head injury when the flow meter detached improperly and struck his forehead, hospital authorities said on Saturday. A senior doctor at the medical college termed as incorrect media reports that the flow meter exploded and claimed that the technician probably did not remove it correctly, and therefore, it came off at high speed and hit him on the head, news agency PTI reported.      “He (technician) was examined and then sent home on Friday. However, later in the night, he came back to the hospital complaining of dizziness and therefore, he was admitted in the ICU for 24-hour observation.   Also Read:Hyderabad doctor crushed by elevator while fetching cricket ball.   “A slight fracture to the skull was also suspected, but nothing has shown up on the scans,” the doctor said.He further said that the injured technician had food on Saturday morning and appeared to be fine, reports PTI.  Medical Dialogues had earlier reported that after three months in judicial custody, the Kerala High Court has granted bail to a doctor involved in the shooting incident of a National Rural Health Mission employee at her residence in Vanchiyoor, Thiruvananthapuram. The bail is contingent upon the doctor submitting a bond of Rs 1 lakh, along with two sureties for the same amount. Noting that the accused had been in judicial custody for 84 days, a single bench Justice C S Dias said, “The investigation was practically complete, the recovery had been effected, and she had no prior criminal record. Considering these factors, the court deems further detention is unnecessary.”    Also Read:Female resident doctor brutally attacked with iron rod at Maha Hospital, suffers head injury
