Hyderabad: In a recent case of quackery, a man pretending to be a doctor was caught working at Ankura Hospital in Madinaguda with fake medical documents. In response, Telangana State Medical Council (TSMC) filed a complaint against the fake doctor.  The man, identified as Kalapala Bharat Kumar, was working as a Duty Medical Officer (DMO) without a valid license or registration at the time of the inspection at the hospital. The incident came to light after the council received reliable information about the incident and conducted a surprise inspection at the hospital on April 19. The inspection was led by Dr Kadali Vishnu, a TSMC member, along with vigilance officers M Ramu and M Rakesh. Also read- Telangana Medical Council raids Cardiac Centre, Technician poses as DoctorDuring the visit, they found that Bharat Kumar was using a forged registration certificate to pose as a qualified doctor. He was also practising medicine without a valid license and certificate, and with fabricated documentsFollowing the discovery, the TSMC filed a complaint at the Miyapur police station. An FIR has now been registered, and the council is waiting for further action from the police.After receiving the complaint, Ankura Hospital carried out its inquiry through the HR department and immediately terminated Bharat Kumar from his job. The hospital said in a press release that it is fully cooperating with the police and the medical council.“We are fully cooperating with the authorities and will continue to take all necessary steps to support the TMC and Police Department. Ankura Hospital is a responsible and committed healthcare institution that upholds the highest standards of patient safety, ethics, and professional conduct. We follow a stringent protocol and multi-stage verification process for all medical appointments.
