The IVAC has been offering the service from its five locations in Dhaka, Chattogram, Rajshahi, Sylhet and Khulna, according to its official website.

Besides, these five IVAC have also opened limited appointment slots for urgent cases where Bangladesh students and workers need to travel to third countries and for which they already have visa appointments with foreign embassies in India.

In view of the current situation, IVAC is currently processing only a limited number of visas of emergency and humanitarian nature.

“For other pending applications, we are returning the passports keeping in view that many applicants may need their passport back for other needs,” read the website.

Once the IVAC returns to normal operations after the normalisation of the security situation, it will process the pending applications and ask the visa seekers to resubmit their passports if visa applications are approved.
