Coimbatore Hospital directed to pay Rs 20 lakh compensation for deficiency in service

A private hospital in Coimbatore has been directed by the District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission to pay Rs 20 lakh in compensation to the parents of a pregnant woman who died allegedly due to a deficiency in medical care provided by doctors.According to a recent media report in the Times of India, the patient, first consulted a private hospital in her locality on January 26, 2023, after becoming pregnant.
